The Giants pitching staff struggled with their control in the game, but were able to work out of tough situations. Christian Banken pitched 3 innings to record the win, and Dylan Connoly-Downey stepped in for 2 innings to preserve the victory. Austin Kean had a running over the shoulder catch in the bottom of the 5th inning that was the defensive highlight for the Giants.
On the offensive side, the Giants showed patience at the plate and took advantage of a Majors pitching staff that struggled with their control. In the lead-off spot, Jeremy Receno did his job and got on base all three plate appearance, scoring each time he reached base. Sean Cochrane also reached base safely in each plate appearance, and had a clutch 2-rbi single with 2 outs in the 4th inning.
The Giants look to improve on their 10-0 record tonight versus the Forest Glen minor team. The Forest Glen Grey have been playing some better baseball recently, beating Majors Red last week. A good showing tonight will give the Giants Black some much needed momentum going into the Goderich tournament this weekend.
